Cancellation of the 2012 edition of the Ride Shakedown USA
Montreal, February 17, 2012 – Dizzle Entertainment would like to announce the cancellation of the 2012 edition of the Ride Shakedown USA, the international snowboard competition, which was to be held March 16 and 17 at The Summit at Snoqualmie (WA). This cancellation in no way affects the 11th edition of the Canadian event, which will still be held March 30 and 31 at Mont Saint-Sauveur (QC, Canada).
The Ride Shakedown, a free event funded entirely by sponsorship, has recently faced certain contingencies that prevent it from securing the budget required to ensure proper staging of the event, while still meeting the high quality standards that it is known for. Thus, it is with great regret that Dizzle Entertainment Inc., producer of the Ride Shakedown, is forced to cancel the present U.S. edition of the event.
About Ride Shakedown
What makes the Ride Shakedown such a hit and cut above the rest is its unparalleled competition format. Seen as a huge snowboarding festival both for the forty-some international athletes and the 80 amateurs, the Ride Shakedown offers a unique competition format with minimal constraints on the athletes. The competition requires a mastery of two distinct disciplines: the jump (Big Air) and an original rail feature unveiled only on the first day of competition. Though professionals are the main attraction, amateurs are thrown in the mix, valiantly battling it out in an attempt to make a name for themselves.
