Competition format and rules

Please note that all categories of the event are for male athletes only.
General rules
  1. There is no pre-determined order. Riders perform their three judged runs within the allocated time whenever they choose (in the semi-final, the first judged run must be done within the first hour – in the final, it must be done within the first 40 minutes).
  2. In the event of a tie, riders will go on to the next round or receive their share of the purse.
  3. The competition requires the mastery of two different disciplines: the Big Air and Rail, featuring a rail with various surface textures revealed only on the first day of competition.
Oakley amateur qualification

Format Jam
The 80 participants will be divided in two groups of 40. Each group will have 120 minutes for all riders to perform two judged runs. Note: If enrollment is 60 participants or less, there will be only one group.

Rules

  1. Three runs will be judged and the final result will combine the two best scores.
  2. Riders must inform the starter which of their runs is to be judged, which trick they will perform (both during the jump and on the rail) and wait for confirmation by the judges.
  3. If one of the two tricks called is not successfully performed, no points will be awarded.
  4. The jump and rail each account for 50 percent of the final score.
  5. If riders successfully complete the trick called on their first jump and/or the rail, they cannot repeat the same trick on their two other judged runs.
  6. Riders who rank in the top three during qualifications will move on to the Ride Shakedown semi-finals on Saturday with the invited pros.

Coors Light Rail Jam qualification

Jam format
Limit of 40 men. Best overall. No pre-determined order. Jam lasts 60 minutes. Three riders will be invited to the semi-final to compete with the pros.

Rules

  1. All runs during the 60-minute period will be judged. Judges are looking for the top three male riders, in other words those who demonstrate a wide variety of successful tricks while using the rails to their fullest.  

Coors Light Rail Jam Semi-final

Jam format
Best overall. No pre-determined order. Jam lasts 60 minutes. Ten best riders will move on the final.

Rules

  1. All runs during the 60-minute period will be judged. Judges are looking for the top ten riders, in other words those who demonstrate a wide range of successful tricks while using the rails to their fullest.

Rules

  1. Only one of the three rails will be used for the final, chosen at random.
  2. Riders will take turns making use of five trial runs each. Judges are looking for the top three riders in other words those who demonstrate a wide range of successful tricks while using the rail to his fullest, the execution and the landing.

Ride Shakedown

Semi-finals
Length of the Jam: 120 minutes. 10 riders will go to the finals.

  1. All participants must make their first judged run within the first 60 minutes of the semi-final.

Finals
Length of the Jam: 90 minutes. Purse will be divided among the top five men.

  1. All participants must make their first judged run within the first 40 minutes of the final.

Rules

  1. In the semi-finals, two runs will be judged and the best of both will be used for the final result.
  2. In the final, three runs will be judged and the final result will combine the two best scores.
  3. If no judged run is performed within the first time lapse, the rider will only have two judged runs.
  4. Riders must inform the starter which of their runs is to be judged, which trick they will perform (both during the jump and on the rail) and wait for confirmation by the judges.
  5. If one of the two tricks called is not successfully performed, no points will be awarded.
  6. The jump and rail each account for 50 percent of the final score.
